Barbara Bush is both wife and mother to a president. Obviously, you knew that , but did you know her name was Barbara Pierce? As in President Franklin Pierce? She is a distant cousin of President Franklin. She is the only one who is a mother, wife, and cousin to a president. Interesting, huh??

Entry #2 Barbara Bush
Barbara Pierce Bush (born June 8, 1925) is the wife of the 41st President of the United States, George H. W. Bush, and served as First Lady of the United States from 1989 to 1993. Previously she had served as Second Lady of the United States from 1981 to 1989.She is the mother of the 43rd President, George W. Bush and of the 43rd Governor of Florida, Jeb Bush.
Entry #1 Lincoln and Kennedy
Many people generally find politics and or history boring. Maybe, it’s due to the lack of mind blowing information; maybe the mere fact that you have a teacher that blabs on about unimportant historical facts. Whatever, the case maybe, “ITS COOLIO!”. I did a research project based on the connections of presidents (deep I know). Two in particular were President Lincoln and of course, Kennedy. Kennedy and Lincoln overall, had similar views which inspired me to connect them.
Lincoln was elected into congress in 1846
Kennedy was elected into congress in 1946
Lincoln was elected as President in 1860
Kennedy was elected as President in 1960
Lincolns' secretary was named "Kennedy"
Kennedys' secretary was named "Lincoln"
Lincoln and Kennedy have an interesting connection, both presidents are exactly 100 years apart, also each president had secretaries named after each other. Some may speculate its reincarnation (if you believe in that type of theory) or it may be a coincidence.
Both Presidents were assassinated by southerners
Booth and Oswald were killed before trial
A man named Andrew Johnson succeeded both Presidents, one born 1808 the other 1908
HOLD ON TO YOUR SEATS!!
Lincoln was shot in the head in a theater named Ford and his killer ran to a warehouse.
Kennedy was shot in a Ford car from a warehouse and the killer ran to a theater.
A week before Kennedys' death he met Marilyn Monroe and a week before Lincolns' death he was in Monroe, Maryland.
What do you think?

Hello,
My name is Kennedy Purvis, and I am 18 years old. In 2013, I graduated from Betty H. Fairfax high school. While attending Fairfax, I was a variety cheerleader, track runner/ thrower, and I was also on the Academic Decatholon team (forced by my mother). I also graduated top of my class (15/435 students), I was an overly dedicated IB student as well. I've been obsessed with politics and history since I was a child. My family is equally into politics and history. My mother named me after John F. Kennedy and my first cousins' name is Reagan. I do a lot of research based off of unknown and interesting facts that involve the two subjects. Many, may perceive politics and or history to be "a waste of time" or "unimportant". I believe, if you make politics and history interesting as in, finding facts that are mind blowing maybe, politics and history would be bigger than Twitter.
While attending GCC my goal is to work through my two year transfer program, and eventually transfer to U of A. Generally, I'm attending college with the goal of receiving my BA in Political Science with a Foreign Relations minor. Afterwards, my education will continue on to Yale University for a Law degree. Throughout, my journey through college I'm hopping for a spark of, "hey, I know what I wanna do for the rest of my life", to spontaneously pop up.
